The Creator-Brand Collaboration Checklist, Start to Finish
Every successful creator collaboration follows a similar path: find the right fit, agree clear terms, create great content, deliver it smoothly, get paid and build the relationship. Missing a step causes most of the problems creators and brands run into, from scope creep to late payments. This checklist brings the whole process together, start to finish, for creators, brands, agencies and hotels. Use it as a reference for every project.
Stage 1: Finding the right fit
For creators:
- Does the brand fit my niche, values and audience?
- Would I genuinely use this product or recommend this stay?
- Is the brand legitimate? Have I checked its domain, website and social accounts?
- Can I meet the timeline alongside existing commitments?
For brands:
- Does the creator's content style suit our brand?
- Does their audience, or their content quality for UGC, fit our goals?
- Do they disclose partnerships properly?
- Have they delivered professionally for others?
Our guide on what brands look for in UGC creators covers the creator side in more detail.

Keeping the checklist useful
Copy this checklist into your own project template and adapt it to how you work. Creators might add their own filming setup steps; brands might add internal approval stages; hotels might add on-property logistics such as room readiness and staff briefings. Review it after each project and add anything that caused a problem, so the same issue does not happen twice. Over time, it becomes a record of everything you have learned about running smooth collaborations.
In practice
A creator and a skincare brand use this checklist for a three-video campaign. Terms are confirmed in one email, a short kickoff call answers questions, filming follows a shot list, files arrive in a clearly named folder, feedback comes back as one message, and the invoice goes out the day of final approval. Payment arrives on time, the brand reports results, and both sides plan the next campaign. Nothing about it is complicated; every step simply happened.
